"The longest journey a man must take is the eighteen inches from his head to his heart."
Minh Dam – Polish artist of Vietnamese origin.
Born in Hanoi and raised in Warsaw, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology, where he earned a Master’s degree in Architecture.
Working primarily in watercolor, his work explores themes of memory, migration, and identity, reflecting the cultural dialogue between Asia and Europe. Combining architectural clarity with expressive painting, his work transforms personal experience into atmospheric visual narratives shaped by place, history, and emotion.
Minh is a university lecturer and educator who shares his experience through international workshops and academic teaching. He is also a co-founder of the Polish Watercolor Society, contributing to the development of contemporary watercolor practice and supporting a new generation of artists working with the medium.
Alongside his artistic practice, he works within the professional art industry as International Account & Sales Manager for Asia at Daniel Smith Artists’ Materials, collaborating with artists, educators, retailers, and distributors across the region. In this role, he connects studio experience with product expertise, education, and the development of the global watercolor community.
Through his solo exhibitions, curatorial initiatives, and leadership in international watercolor festivals, Minh actively contributes to the growth of the contemporary watercolor movement worldwide.
